2 injured in Hometown collision

Two people were injured, one seriously when involved in a crash Sunday night in the village of Hometown, Rush Township.

The head-on collision, involving a sport utility vehicle and a pickup, occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 309 and Pine Avenue.

The SUV came to rest in the parking lot of Two Kings Pizza, while the pickup came to rest in the northbound passing lane facing west.

The Hometown fire company responded to the scene assisting with the victims. The Ryan township fire company responded, setting up a landing zone at the Hometown Farmers market for LifeFlight 6. Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
