Three people were injured Friday in a crash in Franklin Township. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a motorist traveling west on Route 248 struck the end of a concrete medial barrier. The vehicle crossed the roadway and came to rest along the west berm. Flames erupted. Fire companies from Franklin Township and Lehighton responded to the scene and used foam to put out the fire. The occupants were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.
