Palmerton grads aid Misericordia FH year

Two Palmerton graduates were leaders on one of Misericordia University’s best field hockey seasons in school history.

The Lady Cougars finished with a 16-4 record and earned a spot in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship where they lost to nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology.

Former Blue Bombers Celeste Hoffman and Skylar Kohler, both sophomores, were key members on the team.

Kohler was a top defensive player who started every game for the Cougars. As a freshman, she played in 17 games, including four starts.

Hoffman also started every game and was second on the team with 20 points. She posted nine goals and added two assists.

At the end of the season, Hoffman was named 2nd Team All-MAC Freedom.

As a freshman, the former Blue Bomber had three goals and one assist for seven points.
