Pumpkin roll sale
St. John Lutheran Church, 200 E. Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua, is holding a Thanksgiving pumpkin roll sale. To order or for more information, call 570-640-5261. Deadline to order is Sunday. Pickup is from 3-5 p.m. Nov. 23 at the church. Proceeds benefit the church.
St. Peter’s — West Penn
The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have a WASP offering with white gifts. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., and Operation Shoeboxes are due.
WASP meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. On Nov. 20, apple dumplings may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Also Nov. 20, the Cherub and Handbell choirs rehearse at 6 p.m., and the Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Nov. 6 with 27 members present.
President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “How Blessed We Truly Are,” read by a member.
Two members celebrated November birthdays.
There will be brown bag lunches until further notice. Members contributed food, drinks and cups for the club.
The meeting closed and bingo and cards were played.
The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.
Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Nov. 11 with 34 members present.
President Jayne McLaughlin opened the meeting with the invocation, “A Salute to Veterans.”
One member was added to the sick list.
The group chanced off take away containers and a Christmas cover which were won by two members.
Two birthdays were celebrated and the group honored veterans.
Refreshments were served and the meeting closed. Bingo was played. There will be no meeting on Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
The annual Christmas dinner will be held beginning at noon Dec. 9, with food by Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven, at Christ Church in Barnesville.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
“The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Lewistown Garden Club
The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will hold its next meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hall. The program will be crafts that will be made by members present. The arrangement to be judged will be a Thanksgiving theme using burgundy and yellow with the Thanksgiving accessory incorporated, The specimen is a branch with berry or blooming shrub.
