L. Towamensing budget to keep tax rate level

Lower Towamensing Township shouldn’t have to plan on an increase in their municipal tax rates next year.

Supervisors on Wednesday unanimously agreed to tentatively adopt the 2026 budget and advertise it for the December meeting with no tax increase.

The millage rate will remain at 2.5 mills.

Township secretary RoniSue Ahner said the general fund budget comes in at $934,192.

Last December, supervisors adopted this year’s budget with no increase in the tax rate.

In other business, supervisors:

• Accepted the verbal resignation of a public works employee, effective immediately.

• Hired part-time public works employee Jason Kuhn as full-time public works employee, at the rate of $22 an hour, effective Nov. 17.

• Approved the Jeffrey George minor subdivision time extension.
