WP thanks Halloween participants

A Halloween event organized by West Penn Township emergency responders turned out to be quite a treat.

“Thank you to the ambulance and fire company and everybody else who made trick or treat night a success,” township Police Chief Jason Lorah said at Monday’s township supervisors’ meeting.

Lorah said that about 200 children attended the event held Oct. 31 at the West Penn Elementary School.

“They got a ton of candy,” Lorah said.

The event was organized by township police, West Penn Township Fire Department and the Penn Mahoning Ambulance.

“It was very nice,” board Chairman Tony Prudenti said as he thanked the groups. “Sometimes people take it for granted. They don’t realize the work behind it.”
