Siegel to serve as Lehigh County executive

Democrat Joshua Siegel is the projected winner for the Lehigh County Executive race. He garnered 56,611 votes with Republican Roger MacLean getting 36,798.

The county will also have a new judge for the court of common pleas. Democrat Mark B. Stanziola had 55,142 and Patricia Fuentes Mulqueen had 38,216 for the 10-year term.

Antonio Pineda was uncontested for county commissioner from District 1 includes the six municipalities in addition to Whitehall and North Whitehall townships and Coplay.

Other races were:

Heidelberg Township

Republican Vikki L. Stoss is the unofficial winner for the four-year term as judge of elections. Stoss had 535 votes and Democrat Jeffrey P. Kistler had 418 votes.

Unopposed are Jonathan Jakum, six-year term on the board of supervisors; Republican Christopher Dum, four-year term as tax collector; and Republican William R. Hoffert, for a six-year term as auditor.

Washington Township

Democrat Robert J. Schramel defeated Republican Josh B. Friebolin for the six-year term as township supervisor Schramel had 1,082 votes and Friebolin had 919. Republican Ashley Wilk was unchallenged for a four-year term as tax collector.

Slatington Borough

Democrat Andreas Hassold won a two-year seat on council, bringing in 421 votes. Republican Aaron Schoch had 370 but also won a four-term on council, along with Robert Krebs, who appears as both a Democratic and Republican candidate, and Republican William M. Schippers. Jeralyn Walters Schoch was unopposed for another four-year term as mayor, as was Republican Jon W. Rinker, for a four-year term as tax collector.

Lowhill Township

Receiving complimentary votes were John J. Iannantuono, for a six-year term on the board of supervisors; Republican Joann E. Schaffer, for a four-year term as tax collector; and Republicans Michele Herman and Cynthia VanArtsdalen, for four-year terms as judge of elections and inspector of elections, respectively.

All were unopposed.

Lynn Township

Candidates include Robert Jerdon and Mary Ann Metzger, for the six-year term on the board of supervisors and the four-year term for tax collector, respectively; Republican Steve Schoeniger, four-year term as judge of elections in the New Tripoli District, and Republican Judith A. Ritter, for the four-year term as judge of elections in the Lynnville District.

Weisenberg Township

Republicans Richard A. Bleiler won a six-year term on the board of supervisors; Jeffrey M. Strauss, four-year term as tax collector; and George J. Gerbino, six-year term as auditor; and Democrat Emmanuelle Van Fleet, running for a four-year term as judge of elections.
