Several people were injured Friday in a crash in the village of Tuscarora, Schuylkill Township. The crash involving a car and a van occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 209 and Catawissa Road. Reports from the scene were that one vehicle apparently pulled out of Catawissa Road and into the path of the other vehicle, which was on Route 209. Fire companies from Tuscarora and Mary-D, as well as the Tamaqua Rescue Squad, responded to the scene. The occupants were treated by members of the Tamaqua and Ryan township ambulances and Lehighton paramedics. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down the roadway.
