Filming for an episode of a new miniseries took place on location in Lehighton this past weekend, with a cast of local actors and other industry professionals on set.
Writer/director/ producer Joe Hawk has worked on over 40 projects in his career, including movies and commercials. “We thought Lehighton was a great spot to film an episode of this series,” said Hawk.
“We were shooting a scene in a large field today. It’s quiet and low-key around here, plus the natural scenery in the background is a nice touch. I’ve worked with several of the people here today,” Hawk added.
The docuseries is based on a novel written by Hawk in 2017.
The docuseries is about a young man named Nelson Conrad who discovers classified information that cannot be divulged to the public.
The project is called “White House is Fake.” The title has no affiliation with anything political.
“This is an interesting project to be a part of,” said lead actor Ethan Timothy, who won the best actor award at the 48-hour film festival.
Other actors and professionals echoed the sentiment, including Nicky Scars, who interviewed Hawk on a podcast about Hawk’s book, with the same title as the series.
“This is coming full circle for me,” Scars said.
The docuseries will make its way to Sparx and later Tubi in 2026.
