Plans were announced for the laying of the cornerstone of the new Christian Education Building of St. John’s Union Church, Mahoning Valley.

Participants will include the Rev. George P. Fetterolf, pastor of the United Church of Christ wing, and the Rev. George E. Hein, pastor of the Lutheran congregation.

They will be assisted by the Rev. John G. Light, a spiritual son of the Lutheran congregation.

The single story building measured 40 by 132 feet and will be joined to the church to form an overall T shaped structure.

The church is located in the Mahoning Valley, alongside the Gnaden Huetten Trail on a tract if land donated by the late Mr. and Mrs. George Beck.
