West Penn Township police are investigating a truck rollover along Route 309 that occurred just before 7 a.m. The crash occurred just north of the intersection of Routes 309 and 443 near South Tamaqua. The driver appeared to have escaped injury in the incident.

While emergency crews were on scene, a second call came in of an accident along the southbound lanes of Route 309 on the Blue Mountain. Police found a sport utility vehicle that hit a deer causing extensive damage but without injury. COPYRIGHT LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
