After much debate and changes in decisions, Nesquehoning’s trick-or-treat night has been officially moved back to Halloween.
The announcement from the borough came Monday afternoon, stating that trick or treating will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Originally, the borough followed Summit Hill and Lansford, with changing the date for the annual event to Oct. 30 because Halloween falls on a Friday this year, and some municipalities cited the high school football season as the main reason.
In addition, the annual trunk-or-treat event in the borough will still be held, just at a different location this year.
Originally set to take place on the grounds of the Nesquehoning Hose Company, the event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center.
The change was due to the hose company not being available to hold the event at its site this year, and the recreation commission stepping in to help continue the event.
