School board OKs Erdosy Stadium turf replacement plans

A request for proposals to replace the field turf of Al Erdosy Stadium, Northampton, has been authorized.

Northampton Area School District Board of Education voted 8-0 at its Sept. 8 meeting, as recommended by the NASD administration, to approve CHA Consulting Inc., the NASD consulting engineering firm, to design and solicit pricing for the stadium turf field replacement, running track restriping and annual service. Also approved was adding, as an alternate bid, pricing to install a semipermanent lacrosse ball safety net system.

The Erdosy Stadium turf replacement, discussed at the Aug. 18 school board facilities committee meeting, is estimated to cost from $779,750 to $1 million. Recommended is a 15-foot safety fencing for lacrosse games.
