September 30, 1966 — Jerry Serfass and Gerry Nansteel both score two touchdowns to help Lehighton pull away from Slatington for a 33-6 Lehigh Valley League victory. The Indians start the contest sluggish, fumbling the ball away three times in the opening quarter and falling behind 6-0. Clinging to a seven-point margin, the winners score three times in the final quarter. A 23-yard pass from Loren LaRose to Terry Fisher leads to a 5-yard TD run from Nansteel, and LaRose later escapes for a 40-yard burst to the end zone. Serfass seals the win with a 2-yard tally.
