September 24, 1983 — Panther Valley’s defense shuts down West Hazleton and the Panthers use a strong game from Scott Nahf to help gain a 14-0 victory. PV, coached by Gary Williams, allows only five first downs and 86 yards of offense in pitching the shutout. Mike Marcin intercepts a pass and also comes up with a fumble recovery while Jeff Slivka also excels for the Panther D. Nahf collects 108 yards rushing and scores both touchdowns on 1-yard runs in the second half. Passes of 26 and 33 yards from Gary Karnish to Marcin set up PV’s second tally.
