September 18, 1971 — Marian sets a school record for points in a game as it overwhelms Jim Thorpe by a 57-0 score. Six different players reach the end zone for the Colts, including two each by Gary Grant and Thad Kosciolek. Grant tallies on a pair of 2-yard TD runs, while Kosciolek carries the ball from one and 15 yards away for scores. Terry McElmoyle accounts for the first six-pointer of the game when the quarterback scrambles for an 8-yard touchdown run. Marian also receives a 26-yard scoring run from Bob Bydlon and a 30-yard TD toss from Billy Felker to Dave Marouchoc. The Colt defense allows just 30 yards and doesn’t allow the Olympians to reach Marian territory.
