Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

Looking ahead

• Sept. 10: 7 p.m. prayer and praise.

• Sept. 11: 2 p.m. adult Bible study; 6:30 p.m. choir practice.

• Sept. 14: 10 a.m. combined outdoor service with communion in the pavilion. After the service, there will be fellowship time. Bring chairs and blankets. In the event of rain, the service will be held in the sanctuary.

• Sept. 17: 7 p.m. prayer and praise.

• Sept. 18: 6:30 p.m. choir practice; 7 p.m. Christmas concert practice.

• Sept. 23: 10 a.m. quilt group.

• Sept. 24: 7 p.m. prayer and praise.

• Sept. 25: 2 p.m. Bible study; 6:30 p.m. choir practice; 7 p.m. Christmas concert practice.

Adult Bible class: Baron Cebrosky leads the series “Jude: Contending for The Faith Once Delivered” with lesson two on salvation.

September Mission: Faith Alive Benevolence Fund.

Back to church Sunday: Sept. 21 during worship services. Bring a friend. Prayer and praise to celebrate the new season and kicking off 40 days of prayer.

ABC Food Pantry: Donations of canned goods and nonperishable food items can now be dropped off in the church lobby.

Blessed ministry: The Blessing Room is open to the general public. Anyone who needs food or clothing, contact Jan Lazarchak at jklpta@yahoo.com. Gently used clothing donations are accepted by appointment.

Choir: Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the choir room across from the nursery.

40 Days of Prayer Bible Study: A seven-week DVD series by Pastor Rick Warren begins Sept. 24 at 11:30 a.m. in Leah’s Room. The series is also held Friday nights starting Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at Dan and Terri Bisbing’s home.

Save the date

• Community Soup Social, Oct. 4, 6-7:30 p.m. in Leah’s Room. Donations go to Allentown Rescue Mission.
