Kidder to pay 60% of ambulance costs

The Kidder Township Board of Supervisors voted at its meeting last week to cover 60 percent of the cost of a new ambulance for use in the township.

Members said the new ambulance for the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad is anticipated to cost approximately $259,962.95, with Kidder Township paying $155,977.77 of that cost. The remaining balance will be paid by the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad through a Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency loan and donations.

The supervisors also awarded a five-year, $3.66-million solid waste contract with Anthracite Waste Services. The pact includes a provision for bulk pickup.
