September 4, 1998 — Chris Siracuse carries 14 times for 178 yards and a touchdown to help Palmerton earn a 35-8 Colonial League victory over Salisbury in both team’s season opener. Leading 14-0 at halftime, Siracuse gives the Blue Bombers a commanding lead by breaking loose for a 62-yard TD run. The winners, coached by Manny Guedes, receive a pair of scores from Tony Jordan, who finishes the contest with 52 rushing yards on eight attempts. His touchdowns come on runs of 20 and three yards. John Rodrigues (20 yards) and Josh Barkanic (one yard) also add scores, as Palmerton ends with 332 yards on the ground.
