Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

• Sept. 14: 10 a.m. combined outdoor service with communion in the pavilion. After the service, there will be fellowship time with desserts and beverages. Bring chairs and blankets. In the event of rain, the service will be held in the sanctuary.

Adult Bible class: Begins Aug. 31. Baron Cebrosky will restart the series “Jude: Contending for The Faith Once Delivered” with lesson two on salvation.

August Mission: Pa. Adult and Teen Challenge. The organization provides hope of recovery with people struggling with substance abuse disorders and dependency issues.

ABC Food Pantry: Donations of canned goods and nonperishable food items can now be dropped off in the church lobby.

Blessed ministry: The Blessing Room is open to the general public. Take what is needed without judgment, but please clean up after to keep the room neat. Anyone who needs food or clothing, contact Jan Lazarchak at jklpta @yahoo.com. Gently used clothing donations are also being accepted by appointment.

Choir: The choir will present “A Christmas Concert” in December. Additional singers are welcome to join for this event. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the choir room across from the nursery.

Save the date

• Community Soup Social, Oct. 4 in Leah’s Room

• Ladies Luncheon, Nov. 1, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Theme is “Hope in Every Season.” It will include a time to incorporate worship with music by Celeste Leininger, Jan Lazarchak, Michele Miller and Sandy Jenkins. There will also be a speaker. Sign-ups are requested to allow for proper food preparation. Lunch will include a taco bar and dessert.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville), will host its Apple Fall Festival will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 4. Crafters and vendors are needed. Space will be available in the grove and inside the church.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton, has announced the following upcoming events:

Quartet visit: Lost and Found Christian Quartet will be playing at the 9 a.m. service on Aug. 31. Everyone is welcome.

Annual fall basket social: The church holds its annual fall basket social from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Oct. 11. There are theme baskets, raffles, a bake sale, door prizes and more. Food is also available for purchase.
