Jancsarics serve as orientation leader
Lauren Jancsarics of Bethlehem is one of more than 50 talented students selected as a Lebanon Valley College Orientation Leader to guide first-year and transfer students through their early weeks at The Valley. Jancsarics, a graduate of Freedom HS, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science.
Lebanon Valley College will welcome 500 first-year and transfer students for the Fall 2025 semester.
New and transfer students are assigned to small groups led by an Orientation Leader, an upper-class student with leadership ability and a willingness to assist new students during their first year of college. Orientation Leaders serve as positive role models and acquaint all new students with LVC’s structure, services and culture.
Area residents named to advisory
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on LGBTQ Affairs announced the appointment of 28 commissioners that will make up its 2025-27 advisory board. The Commission’s purpose is to gather information regarding LGBTQ Pennsylvanians’ experiences and needs; review, evaluate and assess programs affecting them; provide the Governor with information and recommendations regarding how best to meet their needs; and provide information about programs and services that may be relevant to LGBTQ Pennsylvanians’ needs. The Commission was established by Gov. Josh Shapiro through an Executive Order.
Lehigh Valley members are Ashley Coleman and Corinne Goodwin representing Lehigh County and Ariel Torres representing Northampton County.
St. Luke’s staffer named to national post
Andrew C. Krakowski, MD, board certified pediatric dermatologist and faculty member of the St. Luke’s Dermatology Residency program, has been appointed to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Scientific Assembly Committee.
This prestigious five-year role helps shape the educational content and structure of the AAD’s Innovation Academy and its annual meeting, which is the largest dermatologic gathering in the world. The committee plays a vital role in planning, evaluating and implementing the AAD’s academic programming, with a focus on innovative research, evidence-based care and clinical excellence.
Lash receives doctorate degree
Brenna Rose Lash of Bethlehem was among 548 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during a combined graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremony Aug. 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Lash earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the Office of Graduate Studies.
Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett presided over the commencement ceremony.
Ahner earns business admin. degree
Charlotte Ahner of Bethlehem is among the University of Rhode Island’s newest alumni. URI celebrated more than 3,500 of its newest alumni during the University’s 2025 Commencement. Nearly 3,600 undergraduate degrees and 600 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during the ceremonies which took place May 16-18.
Ahner received a bachelor of science in business administration in Accounting Magna Cum Laude.
