A “WILD About Raptors” educator workshop for formal and nonformal elementary, middle and high school educators will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, 151 E. White Bear Dr., Summit Hill.
Join CCEEC and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources state park educators to discover Project WILD’s Flying WILD curriculum. The workshop will cover activities on adaptation, natural history and raptor conservation status. It will provide educators with a greater understanding of Pennsylvania’s raptors and the challenges they face in today’s world.
Educators will utilize birds of prey (raptors) as a lens to integrate attendees’ curriculum and connect them to the new PA STEELS standards.
The training is open to formal and nonformal educators. It includes a tour of the grounds as well as viewing many species of live raptors. An up close and personal look at a few of the educational ambassadors is included in this workshop.
CCEEC is an outdoor education and wildlife rehabilitation facility.
There is a fee and pre-registration is required for the Act 48, 5 and ½ hour course.
