Philosophy of Care: “My philosophy is rooted in a passion for person-centered care and respect for the uniqueness of every patient at all stages of life,” says Susan Mee-Crimmins. She’s committed to investing time to understand her patients’ medical concerns and collaborating with them to optimize their health and quality of life. She’s also invested in working with families who care for adult children with disabilities and providing for their complex medical, social and mental health needs.

“I provide care that encompasses the whole person; I love learning about your interests and loved ones.”

Services offered: Susan is dually licensed as both a pediatric nurse practitioner and adult gerontological nurse practitioner. She treats patients from the newborn stage of life through the geriatric phase with preventive care, well and sick visits, and medication management. She can also perform routine monitoring, vaccinations, education and health promotion for the entire family.

Conditions treated: Family medicine clinicians treat chronic and acute illnesses and handle a broad range of conditions related to the body at all life stages. With a focus on both pediatrics and gerontology, she has a specialized skillset in the study of developmental assessment and aging.

Why she chose medicine as a career: Susan discovered a passion for teaching new families to care for their newborns while working as a registered nurse in maternal child health. She advanced her career through higher education to become a nurse practitioner and holds a PhD from Rutgers University.

As a nurse practitioner for over 25 years, she blended her passion for clinical care of families with her love for education by teaching nursing at a regional university before coming to Lehigh Valley Health Network.

“I am excited to return full time to clinical practice and provide patients and their loved ones with the tools they need to optimize their health and wellness,” Susan says.

About Susan Mee-Crimmins: Susan is a member of The Arc of Lehigh & Northampton Counties and enjoys volunteering with her faith community. As an active member of a regional national ladies’ charity, she assists the community each year through the group’s fundraiser which benefits a child with serious medical conditions.

She has a deep love for living in the Lehigh Valley, a place where she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, including her Labrador retriever. Among her outdoor hobbies are nature photography, kayaking and fishing.
