Man charged with burglary at East Penn Twp. home

A Northampton County man faces burglary and other charges after he was found inside an East Penn Township home Monday evening.

Dylan Lavenburg, 24, of Danielsville, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct and jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $50,000.

According to court papers, a resident at 39 Lauchnor Grove Lane found a man in the living room, and asked what he was doing there, and the man said he was an HVAC guy.

He left through the front door, and looked into a vehicle on the property as he was walking up the road. Another resident called him back to sit down, and told the other person to call 911, court papers said.

The man, who had come back and sat on the porch, now ran toward the back of the residence, court papers said.

The residents heard a thud, which they believe was the basement door. They found tools and a chainsaw on the top of the back steps, court papers said.

They described the man, who was identified as Lavenburg, on a porch on Brooke Circle, and noted an active warrant for flight out of Northampton County.

He was detained and taken back for identification. The residents confirmed Lavenburg was the man who entered the residence.

Troopers asked Lavenburg why he ran if he was let into the residence, and he replied, “’Bad energy … then the guy pulled a gun on me and told me to come back and sit down,” court papers said.
