Rolling acres of golden petals stretch as far as the eye can see at Second Mountain Sunflowers, 15 Pebble Lane, Tamaqua, seen here last Saturday evening. The Lewistown Valley attraction, in its ninth year, had a successful sun-filled opening weekend. Cuttings are permitted and encouraged, and wagon rides are featured. Hours are daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with wagon rides 4-8 p.m. Weekend rides are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. The venue is located near Heisler’s Cloverleaf Dairy. DONALD R.
