JT Hall of Fame: Jonathan Lilly

Jonathan Lilly, a 1997 Jim Thorpe graduate, was a standout baseball player for the Olympians.

Lilly excelled as a three-year starting pitcher, and at one time held the baseball program’s all-time strikeout mark.

He had numerous 12-plus strikeout games in his career, and in his junior season he compiled a record of 6-1 in Schuylkill League play with an ERA below 3.00.

The former Thorpe standout made his mark as a youngster, striking out 70 batters during his sophomore season.

Lilly was also tough from the batter’s box, leading the team in both triples and extra base hits during his junior campaign.

He won the team’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1997.
