Zion UCC to hold its annual Music Academy

Zion United Church of Christ will host its 15th annual Music Academy from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 18 to 21 at the church, located at the corner of Second and Iron Streets in Lehighton.

The free event is open to all school-age children from kindergarten through 12th grade, inviting young people to explore and grow in their love of music through a variety of engaging activities including band, chorus, musical theater and music-themed crafts. Participants are welcome to join in all activities or simply the ones that interest them most.

The academy will conclude at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 with a special presentation.

Families and community members are invited to attend this showcase featuring group performances, solo opportunities for students who choose to prepare one, and an exhibit of the creative crafts completed during the week.

The evening will end with the Music Academy’s new tradition: a heartfelt group performance of “Until We Sing Again.”

Students of all skill levels are welcome. Band music will be thoughtfully arranged to suit a wide range of musical abilities, and instruction will be provided by experienced music teachers and lifelong musicians who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for music.

The week promises to be uplifting, fun and inspiring, creating lasting memories and encouraging musical growth in a supportive and joyful environment.

No registration fee is required. Parents are encouraged to accompany toddlers who wish to join in.
