Slatington Borough Council will be able to apply grant money to resurface Cherry Street in the borough.

On July 14, Council rejected the project bids, because they were overbudget.

On Monday, Council voted to rescind the motion. Members approved a bid for $148,628.50 from Bracalente Construction Inc. The Cherry Street grant was $94,603.25.

Slatington has to use the $27,469.60 left from the Hill Street grant, so it will be applied to Cherry Street. The Hill Street grant was $94,167.72 and the bid was $66,695.40, so they were able to apply the remainder to Cherry Street.

This project consists of milling, concrete curbing where needed, sidewalk sealer and maintenance.
