Palmerton veteran receives a quilt from Quilts of Valor

Quilts of Valor is a national organization of quilters that sew beautifully handmade quilts for presentation to veterans in each quilter’s local area.

During the presentation ceremony, the veteran’s military record is read and the quilt is draped over his shoulders in recognition his service to our country.

Recently, Navy veteran Bill Murtoff, a member of the Palmerton United Veterans Organization and a resident of a local nursing home, was presented a quilt by Pat Piasecki representing Quilts of Valor.

Attending the presentation were members of Palmerton’s UVO Ed Moyer, Bruce Frisch, Mike Meining and Bill Gallagher. Also present was Kathy Frisch, a local quilter who has made quilts presented to Palmerton area veterans.
