A Pike County man died following a two-vehicle crash late Sunday at 10:04 p.m. on Independence Road in Smithfield Township.

Monroe County Coroner Thomas A. Yanac said Kris Kierski, 60, of Canadensis, was pronounced dead on scene at 11:18 p.m. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Tuesday.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said Kierski was operating a 2016 BMW motorcycle westbounhd when he passed a vehicle while cresting a hill and srtuck an eastbound 2018 Kia Sedona driven by Rose M. Njuguna Wanjohi, 49, of East Stroudsburg. Police said Kierski went airborne over the top of the Kia.

They said Njuguna Wanjohi was uninjured.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
