A woman was seriously injured Saturday night in a crash in Walker Township. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as the driver was traveling south on Wildcat Road and apparently lost control. The unit crossed the roadway striking some trees before coming to rest along the north berm near the entrance to the Wildcat development. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown from the scene by LifeFlight 6. Fire companies from Walker and West Penn townships, Tamaqua and the Tamaqua Rescue Squad responded.

State police at Frackville are investigating the incident. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down the roadway.
