July 25, 1990 — Nesquehoning pounds out 17 hits, including four by Mike Davis, to gain a wild 11-8 victory over Hazle Township in the District 18 Little League tournament. Trailing 5-3 with two outs in the sixth inning, Nesquehoning receives RBI hits from Max Gasker and Brandon McKee to take a lead. After Hazle Township ties the score in the home sixth to force extra innings, the winners plate five runs in the seventh. Billy Hunsicker provides the go-ahead run with an RBI single and Davis adds a run-scoring double. McKee then delivers a bases-loaded three-run double. Rodger Gehring adds a two-run homer in the contest. Gehring also earns the pitching win, striking out 15.
