Jim Thorpe’s 9-10 year-olds stayed undefeated in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament with a win over Tamaqua on Thursday.
In the 11-12 tourney, Anthracite downed the Jim Thorpe 11s.

Jim Thorpe remained unbeaten in Panther Valley 9-10 year-old All-Star Tournament play, as the visitors edged Tamaqua 9-6.
Jase Hollenbach had two hits and four RBIs for the winners, who rebounded from an early 3-2 deficit and used a five-run third inning to take control. One of his hits was a double and he added a run scored.
Thorpe also received a pair of hits and two runs from Alex Eckert, while Julius Calcano (two singles, run) and Silas Kupstas (two singles, run, RBI) both contributed to the victory.
Tamaqua’s Lucas Brennan finished with two hits. Wyatt Clause-Hamm chipped in with a triple, walk and two runs.

Jim Thorpe 11s-Anthracite
Anthracite used a seven-run second inning to help gain a 12-2 victory over the Jim Thorpe 11s in the Panther Valley 11-12 year-old All-Star Tournament.
Axel Hettler delivered a two-run single during the second, which helped erase an early 1-0 deficit. Anthony Colancecco, Conner Jones and Tim Ashmore all added RBI doubles in the frame, while Lucas Arndt chipped in with a run-scoring single.
Ashmore finished the contest 4-for-4 with two RBIs, and Jones went 3-for-3 with three runs. Colancecco and Arndt both had two hits during the 15-hit attack.
Owen Demyanovich pitched all five innings for the winners, allowing just three hits, no walks and no earned runs while striking out seven.
For Thorpe, its hits came from Blake Demyanovich, Wyatt Morris and Fisher Volitis.
