Sobriety checkpoint results listed by Troop N

State police at Troop N, Hazleton, have released the results of a sobriety checkpoint initiative they conducted over the Fourth of July holiday weekend on roads in lower Luzerne and upper Carbon counties.

Police said the checkpoint resulted in four motorists being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

In addition, three motorists were interviewed but released after passing standardized field sobriety testing.

A total 25 traffic citations and 26 written warnings for violations of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code were issued.

There were also two motorists arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and one fugitive was apprehended on a felony warrant for armed robbery out of the state of Massachusetts.
