Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Agreed to spend $7,000 for Tree of Life Management Service to do tree removal at the canal pavilion and museum.

• Agreed to have borough police Chief Jason Nothstein take over CDL training for the Public Works Department.

• Agreed to contact PPL to see about additional street lighting at several areas in the borough.

• Agreed to spend $345 for customer service training.

• Approved a debit card for Chief Nothstein.

• Agreed to waive the garbage fee at 312 Birch St. (house fire).
