Local Roundup: Results from July 11
Tamaqua and Towamensing both picked up Panther Valley Little League 11-12 tournament wins on Friday.
PVLL 11-12 TOURNAMENT
Jim Thorpe 12s-Tamaqua
Brayden Schultz pitched a three-hitter to lead Tamaqua to a 4-1 victory over the Jim Thorpe 12s.
Schultz allowed a first-inning run but blanked Thorpe the rest of the way. The winning hurler walked just one and struck out seven.
Brady Bartczak and Gavin Lutz both had a single, double and a run for Tamaqua, while Bartczak also added an RBI.
Kroy Tirpak and Jacob Baddick each chipped in with a hit and an RBI, and Jakson Perez contributed a hit and a run.
For Jim Thorpe, Lyric Searfoss ended with a double and a run, while Jaxon O’Shura had a double and an RBI.

Jim Thorpe 11s-Towamensing
Bryce Baumgardt was dominant on the mound, while Nick Peters had a big day at the plate as Towamensing posted a 10-0 victory over the Jim Thorpe 11s.
Baumgardt allowed just one hit and one walk in his four innings of work while striking out 10. Peters finished 3-for-3 with a run and three RBIs.
The winners also received two hits, both doubles, and a run from Bentley Stevens. Baumgardt (triple) and Jonny Bieling both contributed a hit and two runs, and Cole Singleton and Evan Kresge each chipped in with a hit, a run and an RBI.
Thorpe’s Eduardo Camacho had his team’s only hit.

TEENER LEAGUE
Tamaqua-Panther Valley
Ryder Holmberg, Bryce Eltringham and Troy Hartman all knocked in two runs to help Tamaqua (West Penn R&G) roll to a 13-3 victory over Panther Valley (LGH Tax & Acct).
Hartman collected a pair of hits for the winners, who took control with a four-run third inning and sealed the contest with a six-run sixth. Gavin Shannon added a hit, RBI and three runs, while Mason Evans chipped in with a hit and two runs scored.
Eltringham also picked up the win, allowing just two hits and two runs in five innings while striking out five.
Panther Valley received two hits, a run and an RBI from Carson Jones. Gabe Perilli finished with a double and a run.
