State police at the Lehighton barracks have released the results of the DUI checkpoint initiatives they conducted on roads in Carbon and Monroe counties over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

They said seven people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance while 43 traffic citations and 35 written warnings were issued to drivers.
