Nesquehoning police need your help identifying the people who stole an iconic clown from an area restaurant.
On Monday, the borough police posted on its Facebook page that Ronald McDonald is missing and it was not a joke.
Surveillance footage show a number of unidentified suspects walk out of the Nesquehoning McDonald’s holding the Ronald McDonald statue. The suspects’ vehicle also appears to be a dark colored Nissan.
“We’re not clowning around. This was a full-blown McNapping,” police said. “Ronald was last seen smiling, as usual, unaware of the betrayal. Witnesses say he didn’t even put up a fight.”
The post then addresses the suspects, saying, “We get it — times are tough, and therapy is expensive. But kidnapping a plastic icon of joy? That’s a McFelony.”
Police are now asking anyone who knows Ronald’s whereabouts — whether he is at a party, your new car pool passenger or a garden gnome — as well as who these people are in the surveillance footage, to call Nesquehoning police at 570-669-9111.
