Carbon County sentencings
The following people were sentenced on May 27 by Carbon County Judge Steven Serfass:
• Tyler Scott Walton, 28, of Hamburg was placed on probation for a period of 6 months for a first offense of driving under the influence. He was ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and must undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations. Walton was also charged with having a small amount of personal use marijuana and was ordered to pay a fine of $300.
• Christopher Anthony Williams, 34, of Barnesville, must serve no less than 3 days or more than 6 months in the Carbon County Correctional Facility for DUI of a controlled substance. He was also ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and complete a drug and alcohol evaluation.
• Jake Alan Shellenberger, 39, of Lehighton, must serve no less than 3 months or more than 2 years in the Carbon County Correctional Facility for access device counterfeit. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community service and pay restitution of $95.
• Jason Perez, 38, of Newark, New Jersey, must serve no less than 11 months or more than 2 years less 1 day in the Carbon County Correctional Facility for robbery-inflicting threats or immediate bodily injury. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, have no contact with the victim(s) and undergo drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and comply with all recommendations.
• Angelo Manuel Brito, 28, of Northampton, must serve no less than 72 hours or more than 6 months in the Carbon County Correctional Facility for DUI of a controlled substance. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and complete 25 hours of community service.
• Ruben Zellner, 60, of Nesquehoning, must serve no less than 66 months or more than 180 months in a state correctional institution for indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 16 years of age. Zellner was also ordered to have no contact with the victim(s) and must enter and successfully complete sexual offender counseling. He was additionally charged with corruption of minors and must serve no less than 9 months or more than 48 months.
