How many more accidents, or even deaths is it going to take, until that one mile stretch of Route 309 on “Mile Hill” is going to be made safe again.
Recently, there has been another serious accident on this deplorable roadway. This time a tractor trailer lost control coming down mile hill, went into the oncoming lane, crashed through the guard rail, ended up down the steep embankment, and luckily no one was seriously injured.
This is one mile and one tenth of a mile of Route 309 beginning at Ben Titus Road, and continuing up “Mile Hill” towards McAdoo, that has never been repaired when Route 309 was being repaved three years ago. Why it was never included in the repair work I will never understand.
This small stretch of highway has become more and more dangerous over the years with nothing being done about it. Is this how Pennsylvania politics works? Let’s continue to have the worst reputation for horribly maintained roads in the country. We will use “Mile Hill” as a good example! What’s it going to take?
