Kutztown University recognized 237 student-athletes as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 academic year.

Among those honored were several local standouts, including Leila Hurley and Olivia Smelas of Jim Thorpe, Michael Fellin of Marian, Jacob Solonoski of Weatherly, John Brennan of Pleasant Valley, Trevor Amorim and Brenden Smay of Northern Lehigh.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and participate in a PSAC-sponsored sport. This is the sixth consecutive year Kutztown has had more than 200 student-athletes earn the distinction, representing 54% of its athletic department.

The PSAC recognized 3,922 scholar-athletes in total across its member institutions, marking the 10th straight year that at least 40% of the conference’s student-athletes earned the academic honor.
