A Schuylkill County teen was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday along Valley Street (Route 209), in New Philadelphia borough.

State police at Frackville said Kelsey V. Swenson, 18, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus eastbound when she failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The car began to slide and traveled through the westbound lane and struck a bridge abutment with the front end along the berm. After impact, the car spun counterclockwise before coming to rest facing west in the middle of the road.

Swenson was able to push the car off the road into the parking lot of a local business then failed to notify police of the crash. She was not injured.

Troopers said she will be cited.
