Albrightsville man charged with injuring woman

An Albrightsville man is in jail awaiting further court action after police say he severely injured a woman during a domestic dispute.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Joshua Silfee of the Kidder Township Police Department in the case against David Lombardi:

On June 14, Silfee and Cpl. Jacob Dinkelacker were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive for the report of a violent physical domestic.

The woman requested that police arrive without lights and sirens as the man in the residence, Lombardi, 54, had beat her severely and she was scared of what he would do.

The woman said that she believed she had a broken nose.

Police went to the front door of the residence, where they saw a woman standing in front of a window.

They saw that her eyes were nearly swollen shut and turning purple, her nose appeared to be broken, her lips were severely swollen and there was blood on her face and shirt.

Police entered the home and saw Lombardi sleeping on a couch. His pajama pants were ripped. Once awake, he denied assaulting the woman.

Because of previous calls about Lombardi being violent, police immediately detained him.

Police saw blood spattered across the wall and on the carpeting in the dining room.

The room was in disarray, with the contents of the woman’s purse dumped onto the floor and items being knocked off the table.

Silfee spoke with the woman about what had occurred before their arrival, and she said that Lombardi is a recovering addict who used methamphetamine.

He tried calling a drug dealer, which caused an argument as the woman was doing what could to keep Lombardi sober. The altercation escalated into him punching her in the face. Lombardi then attacked her and punched her “all over,” she said.

It was later determined that Lombardi had chipped the woman’s teeth, severely beat her face, possibly fractured a rib, and then tried to choke her.

The woman told police that she was in fear for her life.

She was transported her to a medical facility because of the severity of her injuries.

Last week Lombardi waived charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and harassment to court at a preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.

He remained jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
