A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and injured in a hit-and-run mishap at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the Delano Road in Mahanoy Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Louis C. Frye, 20, of Mahanoy City, was taken by a family member to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.

Police said he was standing on the right side of the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

Police said the vehicle was traveling east towards Delano Township at an unknown speed. They said an extensive canvas of the area conducted after the incident yielded negative results.
