Rails to Trails raises money for recreation

Lehigh Township Rails to Trails members had a plant and bake sale recently at Indian Trail Park.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to replant native plants where invasive species are removed.

Rails to Trails of Lehigh Township is a nonprofit organization supporting organizations that provide recreation for all age groups in and around Lehigh Township.

One of its newest projects is a walking trail in the woods at Indian Trail Park and restoring part of that area.

Gravel has been spread, tree signs erected, birdhouses hung and native plants have been added.

Meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month.

Contact Patricia at 215-910-2208, or Dean at 610-462-0617, for time and location to join. New members are welcome.
