Panther Vy. adds four teachers, sets rates
The Panther Valley School Board on Wednesday hired four teachers for the start of the 2025-26 school year.
The new teachers are Alexis Jones, junior-senior high school special education; Jillian Frank, seventh-grade science, and Megal Rosahac, fourth-grade English language arts, all at a salary of $47,686; and Tatiana Trexler, K1 autistic support teacher at a salary of $55,355.
The board accepted two resignations: Anthony Herschitz, cafeteria worker, effective May 21, and Tara Eisley, a junior-senior high school teacher, effective the end of 2024-25 school year.
Other actions
The board, in other routine business, approved:
• College courses for teachers Mary Imossi, Christine Presley, Rosanne Person and Tyler Mangold;
• Reappointment of Robert Yurchak as district solicitor for 2025-26 school year at a retainer fee of $8,500 and an hourly rate of $120 for work done outside of meetings;
• Summer cafeteria workers, Ester Marsolick and Veronic Vergara, at the current contract rate, retroactive to June 4;
• Lists of fall sports workers, $30 an event; sports event managers, $40 an event; and Panther Valley security, at $30 an event, all for the 2025-26 school year;
• Fall sports ticket prices for 2025-26 school year;
• A $5 charge for vehicles to park behind the press box at the stadium for varsity football games for 2025-26;
• The Panther Valley Stadium to be used for football playoff games at a price of $2,996 a game, and the intermediate school be used for playoff volleyball/basketball games and wrestling matches at a cost of $619 per event, both for 2025-26;
• Reciprocal trade for broadcast rights with WMGH and WLSH for $250 for 2025-26;
• The closure of these bank accounts: Jaden Politi Compensatory, Joshua Ruzzano Compensatory, Mckalia Adams Edu; Richard G. McIntyre Graduation Award, Winnie the Pooh Scholarship;
• List of staff for English language arts and math K-5 curriculum writing at the contract rate for summer 2025. This is funded through Ready to Learn;
• An agreement with Northwestern Lehigh School District for speech therapy services;
• The 2024-25 revised Title I Letter of Agreement with the Schuylkill Intermediate Unite;
• List of staff from 2025 summer kindergarten program;
• Second reading and revision of policies on conduct/disciplinary procedures; freedom of speech by employees; service animals in schools, discrimination and harassment;
• First reading of policies on federal fiscal compliance, travel reimbursement, suicide awareness, conflict of interest.;
• Moving M. Imosi, JSHS teacher, to the master’s degree column of the union pay scale effectively immediately for the 2024-25 school year;
• Transfer of the following teachers: Julie Gower from sixth-grade reading to interim Title I reading; Nathaniel Seals, seventh-grade science to sixth-grade English language arts; Angelina Degler, second-grade to kindergarten; Elizabeth Hherchak, kindergarten to second-grade, and Krystal Fitzgerald, fourth grade-English language arts to JSHS special education.
• Valeria Matika as part-time assistant to the business manager at a rate of $40 an hour.
