The 74th Annual Four-County Firemen’s Association Parade was held on Saturday in Emmaus, featuring eight divisions of firemen and their equipment intermingled with numerous bands, antique firefighting machinery and other organizations.
Eighty-two fire companies and more than 25 bands were represented in what was the biggest parade in the association’s history.
Taking the grand prize for the best appearing uniformed fire company with music was Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 of Lehighton, which had 78 men in line. The company accepted the top prize of $300.
Finishing second as the best appearing uniformed company with music was the American Hose Company No. 1 of Lansford, while third place went to the Whitehall Township fire company. They received $200 and $100, respectively.
