Local Roundup: Results from June 21-22

Franklin Township and Palmerton both posted weekend wins in Connie Mack action.

Franklin rolled past Silver Creek in Senior League action, while the Bombers downed Moore Township in Junior League play.

Franklin Twp.-Silver Creek

Franklin Township had a strong offensive game against Silver Creek on Saturday, cruising to a 12-2 victory.

Chase Llewellyn had two hits and five RBIs for the winners, who opened the game with four runs in the first inning. Brayden Ulshafer also went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

FT also received a pair of hits, two runs and two stolen bases from Braylon Hunsicker, while L Haydt chipped in with a hit and two runs.

Brady Stubits went the distance on the mound, allowing just one earned run. He walked three and struck out six.

Palmerton-Coplay

Coplay pulled away from Palmerton for a 12-2 victory on Sunday.

Gabriel Glass went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for the winners, who scored 12 unanswered runs after Palmerton opened the game with a 2-0 lead.

Maison Mourani added a pair of hits and scored runs.

For Palmerton, Cade Serfass collected two hits and an RBI.

Palmerton-Moore Township

Cade Serfass excelled on the mound and in the batter’s box on Saturday to lead Palmerton to an 8-4 victory over Moore Township.

Serfass tossed all seven innings, allowing just four hits and three earned runs while striking out 12. At the plate, he collected two hits — one a double — and knocked in four runs.

The winners also received a 4-for-4 effort from Colton Labukas, who added a pair of runs scored. Brody Mertz chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Xavier Ahner finished with three RBIs and Landon Eckhart scored three runs.

Northern Valley dropped a doubleheader to South Parkland on Saturday, falling 3-1 in the first game and 12-2 in the second.

The Chargers used a Gabriel Markovitch fifth-inning RBI single in the opener to force a 1-1 tie, but the Trojans pushed across two runs in the seventh on RBIs from Nick Raminni and Jayden Witcoski to gain the win.

Northern Valley threatened in the home seventh, as Evan Miller and Markovitch led off with singles and eventually loaded the bases, but reliever Timothy Bowser recorded two strikeouts to preserve the victory.

In the second game, Sammy Moscato went 3-for-3 and knocked in two runs to lead South Parkland to a sweep. Max Stolzer finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Declan Walsh added a pair of hits and two RBIs.

For the Chargers, Nathan Kinney collected a double, a run and an RBI.
