Beaver Meadows dedicates rec hall

The Beaver Meadows Citizens for Recreation dedicated its new recreation hall during Memorial Day holiday festivities.

Harmony Hall will be a gathering place for people to enjoy togetherness with events and activities of many different facets for years to come.

It took several years of planning and dedicated work by borough officials and local politicians to make the day come to fruition.

The project was spearheaded by Beaver Meadows resident Tom Cherneski, who along with Jennifer Barnesevich, board members of the BMCR, Beaver Meadows council and mayor, and help from state Sen. David Argall, Rep. Doyle Heffley and Carbon County Commissioner Mike Sofranko, who all attended the dedication ceremonies this past Memorial Day.

There were many people who gave their time and effort to see this project completed.

And all who helped — including the contractors and the borough maintenance man ensuring the lawn was manicured for the official opening day — saw Mother Nature provide probably the nicest day in the rainy month of May for the ceremonies.

It was a good day for the little town of under 1,000 people to pull this large project off for its citizens, and goes to show that working together can accomplish positive results.
