Franklin Township’s Senior Connie Mack squad also tried to gain a comeback victory, but fell just short in the final at-bat.

Hope’s Collision (Tamaqua) used a late rally to pull out a 6-3 victory over Williams Valley in the Schuylkill Junior Teener League playoffs.
Trailing 3-1, the winners scored five runs in the sixth to take the lead and then held their opponents scoreless the rest of the way.
Chayse Smith delivered a two-run single in the sixth to tie the game at 3-3 before an error and passed ball brought home the remaining runs.
Smith finished with two hits for Hope’s, while Mason Evans and Jeffrey Oakes both added a hit and a run.
Bryce Eltringham tossed five innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run to earn the win. He walked four and struck out six.

Franklin Township nearly erased a six-run deficit but came up just short in a 6-5 loss to unbeaten Southern Lehigh in Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack play.
After falling behind 6-0 through four and a half innings, Franklin rallied with five runs over the final three frames, including a four-run seventh.
Brayden Ulshafer and Chase Llewellyn both went 2-for-4 to lead Franklin’s eight-hit attack. Logan Bellis added a two-run single and walked twice, while Braylon Hunsicker had a hit and scored a run and helped anchor a clean defensive effort. Tegan Hettler worked 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to keep Franklin within striking distance.
Parker Grady earned the win for Southern Lehigh, striking out 11 over six strong innings and adding a two-run single at the plate. Southern Lehigh worked eight walks in the game and stole seven bases. Brandon Barone added a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored.
Franklin Township will visit Silver Creek on Saturday.

Jim Thorpe-Valley West
Chase Swircek pitched a five-hit shutout and received plenty of offensive support as Valley West handed Jim Thorpe a 10-0 defeat.
Swircek didn’t issue any walks and struck out six as Valley West posted its second straight shutout in the tournament.
Dom Zazycki had two hits and three RBIs to pace the winners, who scored six times in the first inning. Carter Klatka, Kaleb Fields and Swircek all added a pair of hits and a run.
Thorpe received hits from five different players.
